Man On The Moon

Reality stopped for a moment
It was late in the afternoon
I remember that in the summer of -69
Two men had walked on the moon

The thought brought me melancholy
It was both romantic and sad
I looked back on my own life
And experiences I never had

I wonder how it would have been being up there
Looking down on human despair
As well at our fleeting happiness
Was it better than being down here?

There are so many realities
And they can all be hard to define
No one can say for certain
That their world was better than mine

But maybe it can make us think of
Our own reality, now and then
And if the world is really a better place
When looked down on, from the moon, by man
