You only notice it

When nothing happens 

Or something ends

Time is measured 

By what we see 

Does it run, spend, or steal

Or does it make amends?

We tell each other what time is

When giving it away

By how we love

Do we love like lovers or friends 

And only on weekends, or every day?

Lately I've noticed 

That nothing is happening 

Is it now that everything ends?

It was the day before midsummer

In the year of 2023

Now me and my home smell of you

And you smell of me

I was cute

From my hands to my toes

My very first visit

In the land where anything goes

I was kissing every inch of them

As usual I was too curious

Silently but assuringly

The last time this happened to us

An amputation had to be done

To not spread an evil and rottenness

Gratitude

I found myself not breathing
